History
ENAR was established with the objective of developing engineering design capability and technical and consultancy know-how in the country by participating in planning, engineering design and construction work of projects in oil & gas, hydrocarbon processing and related process industry sectors.
ENAR is providing project development/planning, design engineering, procurement assistance, site supervision and project management services for projects in petroleum refining, oil & gas processing, storage and cross-country pipelines, chemicals, petrochemicals, fertilizers and other related sectors. ENAR specialized in process engineering and over the span of almost three decades it has been involved in all major oil & gas sector projects.
ENAR is the only multi-discipline integrated design engineering organization in Pakistan which has been involved in various phases of the oil & gas sector projects implementation from development/ planning to design engineering, execution, start-up and commissioning.
ENAR has played a vital role in catalyzing the growth of indigenization, as without local engineering of projects, indigenization activities cannot take place. During almost three decades of its existence, ENAR has been involved in almost all major petroleum refining, storage terminals, pipeline and gas processing projects e.g. Revamps of National Refinery Limited (NRL), Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO)’s Pipri Terminal, Hub River Fuel Oil Pipeline and Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL)’s Dakhni Gas processing Complex, Uch, Kunnar Plants and Qadirpur Capacity Enhancement Projects. Currently, ENAR is providing design engineering services to E&P companies (i.e. multinational & public/private) and petroleum refineries.
Apart from executing the above mentioned projects, ENAR has been extensively involved in energy/petroleum sector planning and project development activities. ENAR involvement in development of energy/petroleum sector ranged from sectoral, feasibility, planning studies and production/optimization models to in-depth technology/process evaluations, simulations, environmental assessments, basic/process engineering to development of price mechanism and inputs for development of sectoral policies. ENAR has also been providing project evaluation/valuation services to local financial institutions and privatization commission.
In petrochemical/chemicals area, ENAR has been involved in numerous studies related to development of ethylene production based on alternate feed stocks (i.e. naphtha, ethane and ethanol molasses as well as end-petrochemicals production i.e. plastics, fibre inputs and aromatics. The studies undertaken include detailed feasibilities, sectoral studies and market surveys/assessments. ENAR has also evaluated projects for production of polyethylene and polystyrene. ENAR has been involved in execution of BTX Plant of National Refinery Limited (NRL). ENAR has executed a grass roots chemical complex comprising phthalic anhydride, malic anhydride and dio-octyle phthalic plants. ENAR apart from carrying out processing engineering of utilities of the complex and detailed engineering of all the three plants also provided project management & procurement support and construction supervision during execution of the project.
As far as fertilizer sector is concerned ENAR has been involved in carrying out studies for setting-up Single Super Phosphate (SSP) plant and execution of grass roots fertilizer complex comprising Sulphuric Acid and Granulated SSP plants with associated utilities bagging & storage facilities. The complex was executed by ENAR on complete responsibility basis from arrangement of licences for sulphuric acid as well as SSP to basic/process, detailed engineering, project management & procurement services to construction management to commissioning & start-up. ENAR also carried out a detailed evaluation of ammonia urea DAP Complex.
