Instrument & Control Engineering

ENAR's instrumentation group is manned by highly experienced design and field engineers, these engineers work in close collaboration with process and electrical engineers to establish plant operating and control requirements. The group is responsible for:

• Review and comments on of P&ID
• Design of overall control system
• Preparation of field instrument specification and data sheets, control room instruments (i.e. DCS/ESD systems) specifications
• Calculation sheets for flow elements, and control valves sizing etc.
• Preparation of panel drawings, control room layout.
• Preparation of installation, instrument loop and logic drawings
• Development of instrument material, BOQs and cost estimates
• Preparation of instrument/alarm schedules wiring diagrams to ensure overall system integrity.
• Pre-qualification of instrumentation system suppliers and preparation of enquiries for quotations.
• Bid evaluation and recommendation for vendor/contractor selection
• Supervision of works, testing of major system components and overall system and installation and commissioning.
• Witnessing systems factory acceptation and sets acceptation test DCS/SCADA.

The group has wide application experience of both modern distributed microprocessor based control systems as well as conventional electronic, electromechanical and pneumatic systems. It has the capability of complete system specification including the requirements for regulation, sequence control, interlocking, protection, data acquisition, process instrumentation and fiscal metering. The group has been involved in complete design of pipeline and pumping station SCADA system. This expertise has been used in the design of a number of oil/gas processing and pipeline transmission facilities.

ENAR is also maintaining a group of instrument technicians. These technicians (12 Nos.) are stationed at National Refinery Limited (NRL) and are involved in preventive maintenance of instruments and analyzers. They are also involved in instruments repair and calibration during turn around of various refinery units. They also undertake installation work and commissioning of instrument loops and analyzers. These technicians have also been exposed to installation work of instruments and monitor turnaround jobs in cement and fertilizer industry.

ENAR is in the process offering services for maintenance of DCS systems of oil & gas installations. ENAR has already negotiated with several DCS manufacturer including Elsgear Baley, Allen Bradly, FF Automation and Fischer Rosemount for providing service to their system and even stock some of the spares.
