This area has been the main activity area of ENAR and covers:

• Project identification screening studies.
• Market and pricing studies.
• Technology/process evaluation.
• Detailed feasibility and project evaluation studies.
• Gas utilization, demand/supply and distribution studies
• Energy audit, conservation/conversion studies.

Over the years ENAR has undertaken studies of petroleum refining, pipeline storage terminals, chemicals, petrochemicals, fertilizer and paper projects.

In the petroleum refining area as stated earlier, ENAR has been involved in almost all the projects, planned or implemented in Pakistan. Some of the projects in which ENAR has been involved include:

The Detailed Feasibility Studies of PSO-Hyundai Grass Roots Refinery and Iran-Pak Projects have been carried out by ENAR was involved in:

• Development of energy and petroleum products demand/supply projections.
• Location and site selection.
• Environmental impact assessment.
• Process configuration studies.
• Assessment and sizing of utilities and infrastructure requirements.
• Process engineering of non-licensed units.
• Cost estimation and financial evaluation.

ENAR in recent years has also been providing project evaluation/valuation services to leading financial institutions, privatization commission and other organization of the country. The projects evaluated to-date include petrochemicals, fertilizer and oil & gas processing facilities.
