Refinery Production/Optimization Models

Over the years ENAR has developed refinery production/optimization, market/ distribution models for various clients in Pakistan. These models have been used for planning, investments in the sector, product mix optimization, identifying location of storage/distribution terminals, logistics requirements/costs and market zones.

ENAR has also assisted Bechtel Limited in the development of integrated National Petroleum Refining Modeling System. The primary purpose of the Modeling System is to provide a tool to MP&NR in support of the transition within the petroleum industry to market oriented environment. For this purpose a suite of LP Models using Bechtel's proprietary PIMS System have been developed. These models will provide MP&NR a decision support tool in identifying and planning:

• The lowest overall cost options for supplying the national demands for petroleum products.
• Future investment needs to best meet product demand, both in terms of quantity and quality.

An integrated 'National' Model "PAK", has also been developed incorporating:

• Refinery models: ARL, NRL and PRL.
• Hydrocracker Complex Model "HDC".
• Import/Export Models.
